Faucets, Showers & Garbage Disposals in Las Vegas

Dripping faucets, weak showers and jammed garbage disposals are small problems that are worth fixing right. We repair and install fixtures throughout the house.

Faucet repair and installation

Drips usually come from a worn cartridge, washer or O-ring. Low flow is often a scaled-up aerator; Las Vegas hard water clogs them quickly. We repair kitchen, bathroom and laundry faucets, and install new ones with new supply lines and shutoff valves where needed.

Shower repair and installation

We fix dripping showerheads, shower valves that won't hold temperature, and leaks behind the wall, and install new shower valves and trim.

Garbage disposals

A disposal that hums but won't turn is usually jammed; one that does nothing may have tripped its reset button. A leaking disposal typically needs replacing. We repair, replace and install disposals.

Outdoor faucets

Leaking hose bibs and outdoor faucets are common, especially after a hard freeze. We repair and replace them.

Fixture tips for hard-water homes

Shower valve that runs too hot or too cold

Pressure-balancing shower valves hold temperature steady when someone flushes a toilet. When scale builds up on the cartridge, the valve sticks and the water swings or won't get hot enough. Replacing the cartridge usually solves it. If the valve is an older two-handle style, upgrading to a single-handle valve is an option we can talk through.

White crust on showerheads and spouts

That buildup is calcium and magnesium from valley water. Soaking a showerhead in vinegar dissolves light scale, but heavy deposits can crack plastic nozzles. Spray patterns that go sideways usually mean the holes are partly blocked. A new showerhead is an easy fix, and checking it is part of any visit where we're already working on the bathroom.

Garbage disposal that drains slowly or smells

Fibrous scraps like celery and onion skins, coffee grounds and grease pack the drain past the disposal. Run cold water for a while after each use and avoid pouring fat down the sink. If the sink still drains slowly with the disposal running, the clog is likely in the line itself, which falls under kitchen drain cleaning.

Angle stops and supply lines under the sink

The small shutoff valves under sinks and toilets often seize after years of hard water, so they won't close when you need them. Braided supply lines also age and can burst. When we install a faucet, we check these parts and replace them if they're stiff or corroded. Leaks behind the cabinet are covered on our leak repair page.

Common questions

Why is my faucet flow so low?

In Las Vegas, the most common cause is a scaled-up aerator. Cleaning or replacing it usually restores flow.

My disposal hums but won't spin. What's wrong?

It's probably jammed. Turn off the power before doing anything. If it won't free up, we can repair or replace it.
