Tankless Water Heaters in Las Vegas

Tankless water heaters give you hot water on demand and free up space, but in Las Vegas they need correct sizing and regular descaling to live up to their promise. We install, repair and maintain them.

Tankless installation

We size the unit for how many fixtures might run at once and for winter, when incoming water is coldest. Gas units often need a larger gas line and new venting, and we check both before quoting. Every install includes isolation valves so the unit can be descaled without cutting pipes.

Tankless repair

  • Error codes and units that won't ignite
  • Water that swings between hot and cold
  • Low flow or no hot water at some fixtures
  • Venting, gas supply or flow sensor problems

Descaling: the key maintenance job

Hard Las Vegas water leaves scale inside the heat exchanger, which cuts output and can trigger error codes. Flushing the unit with a descaling solution about once a year, and cleaning the inlet filter, keeps it running properly. Many manufacturers require regular maintenance to keep the warranty valid.

Is tankless right for you?

Tankless makes sense if you run out of hot water with a tank, want to save space, or plan to stay in the home long enough to benefit from the longer lifespan. It costs more up front than a tank and needs regular descaling.

Living with a tankless heater in hard water

Winter groundwater temperature and sizing

Incoming water in the valley is warmer in summer than in January, and a tankless unit has to raise it to your set temperature in one pass. A heater that keeps up in July can fall short in winter with two showers and the dishwasher running. We size for the coldest incoming water, not the average, so the unit holds temperature year-round.

Scale-reduction filters and softeners

An inline scale-prevention cartridge before a tankless heater slows mineral buildup in the heat exchanger. A whole-house softener does more, though it adds upkeep. Neither replaces annual descaling, but both can stretch the time between service and keep error codes away. We can talk through which fits your home and budget before installing anything.

Cold-water sandwich and minimum flow

Tankless units need a minimum flow rate to fire. Turning a faucet on very low may not start the burner, and quick on-off use can send a slug of cold water between hot. That's normal behavior, not a defect. Recirculation pumps or a small buffer tank can help in homes where the heater sits far from the main bathroom.

Venting and condensate on high-efficiency units

Condensing tankless heaters exhaust cooler gas through plastic pipe and produce acidic condensate that has to drain somewhere. That drain line can clog with scale just like an AC condensate line. We check the vent run and the condensate drain during service, since a blocked drain will shut the unit down. Tank options are on our water heater page.

Common questions

How often should a tankless water heater be descaled in Las Vegas?

About once a year in hard water, or as your manufacturer recommends.

Why does my tankless heater go cold with two showers running?

It may be undersized for winter demand, or scale and a clogged inlet filter may be limiting output.

Can you convert my tank heater to tankless?

Yes. Gas conversions often need a bigger gas line and new venting, which we check and price first.
